Vayu Energy Signs €1M Deal with Dublin Port Company

Thursday 2nd July 2015: Irish energy supplier Vayu Energy has signed a gas and renewable electricity deal with Dublin Port Company valued at €1 million per annum. The agreement will see Vayu supply Ireland’s premier port with gas and 100% green electricity to meet the year-round energy requirements for its operations, which handle almost 50% of the country’s trade, 42% of GDP and two thirds of the country’s containerised imports and exports.

Monaghan Mushrooms Announces €2.8 Million Renewable Energy Deal With Vayu Energy

25th May 2015: Monaghan Mushrooms, the country’s largest producer of mushrooms, has signed a renewable electricity deal with Irish energy supplier Vayu Energy valued at €2.8m per annum. As part of a direct Power Purchase Agreement, Vayu will supply Monaghan Mushrooms with 100% green electricity generated from a 10-turbine wind farm located in West Cork. With a total annual production capacity of 25 GWh (enough to power 5,500 houses a year) the electricity generated will be used to supply the company’s six sites across counties Monaghan, Mayo and Kildare.

Vayu Energy Signs New Gas Supply Deal With C&C Group

Thursday 30th April 2015: Irish gas supplier Vayu Energy has signed a new deal with C&C Group plc which adds C&C’s production sites in Glasgow and Somerset to Vayu’s existing gas and electricity supply arrangements with C&C in Ireland, with a combined value of €5M over the next three years. The deal represents a milestone for European energy deregulation by enabling, for the first time, a multinational company with operations in the UK and Ireland to procure natural gas centrally from a single supplier. This means that natural gas for C&C’s key manufacturing and distribution sites across Ireland and the UK are now supplied by one provider: Vayu Energy.

Winners of the 2015 Action Renewables Association Awards Announced

Vayu Energy recently joined with Action Renewables in Belfast to announce the winners of the 2015 Action Renewables Association Awards, celebrating Northern Ireland’s leading renewable energy initiatives. 5th January 2014: Irish energy supplier Vayu Energy has signed a gas and renewable electricity deal with retailer Debenhams Ireland. Valued at €3m per annum, the agreement will see Vayu Energy supply Debenhams with gas and 100% green electricity to meet all the year-round energy requirements for its eleven stores in the Republic of Ireland and five stores in Northern Ireland.

Russia-Ukraine Gas Deal – 26% Drop in Irish Wholesale Gas Prices in 2014

Friday, 31st October 2014: The natural gas supply deal reached between Russia and Ukraine has resulted in significant downward pressure on wholesale gas prices being traded today, according to Irish energy supplier Vayu. When markets closed today, wholesale market contracts for next-day delivery were down 26% since the start of year, trading at 49.1p (down 2% compared to yesterday’s closing price).

Vayu launches wholesale gas product for mid-sized business users in the UK

24 September 2014: Business energy supplier Vayu today launched a new gas product allowing mid-sized gas users to take advantage of cheaper prices available in the wholesale gas markets. A first of its kind for the UK market, the Vayu Energy Smart opens the wholesale gas market up to thousands of businesses throughout the country, allowing them to purchase gas on more equal terms to much larger businesses.

Vayu Enters UK Business Gas Market

June 2014: Vayu has announced its expansion into the UK, providing natural gas and energy services to businesses across the UK’s industrial and commercial sector. The announcement sees Vayu become the first Irish energy supplier to target the UK business gas sector.

Vayu has grown steadily since 2003, when it became the first independent supplier to be awarded a gas shipping and supply license in Ireland. The company now supplies 22% of Ireland’s largest natural gas business users and 15% of the mid-sized gas user segment. Gas customers include companies such as Tesco, IBM, Debenhams and DHL.

24 November 2013: Irish energy supplier Vayu has signed a gas and renewable electricity deal with Britvic Ireland, the number one soft drinks company by volume on the island of Ireland. Valued at €1.8m in the first year, the agreement will see Vayu supply Britvic with natural gas and 100% green electricity to meet all the year-round energy requirements for its three Irish sites – its two factories in Dublin (Kylemore) and Limerick (Newcastle West) and its distribution centre in Dublin (Clondalkin).

The deal will provide Britvic with direct access to wholesale market prices for both electricity and gas, allowing the company to achieve significant savings compared with traditional fixed rate tariffs in the market. As part of a fully managed agreement, Vayu will provide Britvic with the procurement tools and advice to purchase energy at the best price available in the market.

Our Lady’s Hospice awarded 100% renewable energy certificate from Vayu

November 2013: Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services was recently presented with a 100% renewable energy certificate from Irish energy company Vayu. By using electricity attributed entirely to renewable sources, Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services is saving the equivalent of 17,407 trees each year and achieving an electricity CO2 rating of zero, thereby significantly reducing its overall carbon footprint.
